Hi all!
My life is about to change for good, and I want you to experience it with me.
My name is Kelsey O'Connor, and I will be spending the next ten weeks on a mission trip in Ocean City, New Jersey. While being on the beach all summer sounds like heaven, that is not the reason I'm going. I will be going with the sole purpose of evangelism - learning it and applying it daily. The learning part of the summer will involve being trained by full-time missionaries, being discipled, and living in a Christian community. The application part will involve getting a full time job to use as a ministry opportunity as well as using the beach as a chance to meet people and share the gospel.
While my main goal through this trip is to help other people in their relationship with Jesus, I know that my relationship with Him will grow as well. It will be challenging to fly to the end of the country with few familiar faces and share the gospel to strangers. Yet 2nd Timothy 4:5b says, “Do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” All I can do is obey and trust. Despite all the challenges this summer will throw at me, Jesus is bigger.
God is going to work tremendously this summer, and I can't wait to see what that entails. I appreciate that you took the time to check out my blog, and I encourage you to follow along for the summer to see what God does.
